Every score on CreatorTools is produced by the same repeatable process. This page explains exactly how we test, how we score, and what we won't do.
We run every tool through the same five tasks using the same source footage. The source footage is our own recordings — not tool demos or vendor-provided materials.
Cut a 30-minute interview to a 5-minute highlight
Source: same 30-minute talking-head interview used for every tool. Instruction: identify the 5 best minutes and produce a coherent edited cut. Scored on: AI selection quality, editing speed, and coherence of output.
Auto-generate captions for a 10-minute video
Source: same 10-minute video with two speakers, mixed accents, and one section with background music. Scored on: accuracy rate (errors per minute), edit interface quality, and export options.
Generate 3 vertical Shorts from a 20-minute video
Source: same 20-minute YouTube-style video with multiple distinct topics. Scored on: AI hook identification, auto-reframe quality, and clip selection relevance.
Clean background noise from a recording
Source: same 3-minute recording with HVAC hum, slight echo, and one door slam event. Scored on: noise reduction effectiveness, voice naturalness after processing, and artefact level.
Generate AI B-roll for a talking-head segment
Prompt: standardised text prompt for remote work B-roll (same prompt for all tools). Scored on: visual quality, prompt adherence, and integration quality with real footage.
